Most people who have tried these eye-popping fruits compare their taste to vanilla ice cream or custard. Worth the try, right?

The Blue Java bananas grow in Asia, Australia, and Hawaii. If you are already obsessed with this fruit, it’s good to know that you can have it raw or add it to your smoothie bowls and other meals.

Today at #summerschool I heard… "child…you ever see a blue 🍌 before?" It was art and craft time…I believe kids should be allowed creative expression. If for you the banana is blue and not yellow…then go ahead and be a blue banana colourer😂…( I invent words and I don't care) We have to be careful what we teach kids…I was teaching crayon etching and when I said we were gonna use the black crayon over the other colours..one kid remarked.." I hate the black crayon!…when I get my crayons I throw the black one out"….it saddened me…and I grabbed that #teachable moment and set my class straight! The black crayon is beautifully brilliant and without it crayon etching wouldn't be possible! Oh and btw…. apparently there are blue bananas..they are called #bluejava and apparently they taste like vanilla ice cream! #colourfreedom #rainbowcolours #blackisbeautiful #bluebananas

]]> Sometimes, art can be complex and it can be hard to understand what the artist is doing. With Stephan Brusche, there’s no second guessing – he turns bananas into works of art.

The former graphic designer from the Netherlands sees bananas as a blank canvas for “fruit doodles”. He draws on banana peels with toothpicks, a knife, a ballpoint pen – whatever he has on hand at the moment.

Two weeks ago my mom died after battling ALS for about a year. My mom was the most caring woman I knew and she had a huge positive impact on many lives. She will be sorely missed. . The Citroën 2CV was here preferred mode of transport and she had many when I was growing up. After getting my driver license she trusted me enough to lend it out to me. And I loved driving around in this wonderful machine. . Last Friday on the day of her funeral my brother @martijn_brusche rented a white 2CV for the trip from the church to the cemetery. It was a perfect move. The day after he took a picture of it in her remembrance (if you swipe left you can see the original). It inspired me to make this piece. Because it was something very associated with my mom but also the serenity of the empty 2CV made it a very fitting and bittersweet image of the loss of losing someone so dear. . . #2CV #Mom #ALS #iSteef #foodart
