They say that the best way to become a better person is by behaving like someone you could have used in your worst times. For most people, it’s someone who would stand up for them or empower them during their formative years, especially when they’re at the receiving end of constant bullying.
That’s exactly what Portland-based portrait and creative art photographer, Lance Reis, did, when a friend of hers came to him, asking for help because he was having a hard time in school and was being bullied.
As Reis details on her Facebook account: “So Andrea came to me because her son Race is being bullied in school & he’s having a hard time right now. She said getting a photo with Batman would mean the world to him to which I replied of course that would be nice BUT what if we took it a step further and made him the Joker instead. 😁 This kid is amazing & such a sweetheart. Seeing the pain in his eyes completely took me back to when I was his age and relentlessly bullied. But as I told him we can get past it and grow up to do great things. And look, now he easily has the coolest photos of anyone in his school 🔥🔥🔥🃏 So suck it bullies. 😅”
By transforming Race into his favorite comic-book character, Batman’s arch-nemesis, The Joker, she hopes to empower him and help him fight back against the bullies that taunt him. You’ll definitely be amazed as to what Reis accomplished in her Batman-Joker photoshoot.
