]]> It is always fascinating to see objects from the early days of technology, especially computers or video game consoles. Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly hard to find them anymore, as most of them are destroyed or sitting in museums and private collections. Fortunately, designer Rocky Bergen found a way around this.

Bergen creates paper models of retro computers and game consoles. Despite doing it on a small scale, he manages to faithfully recreate all the features that made a certain technology piece stand out.

Best of all, Bergen decided to share his works with everyone who needs a nostalgia fix in their life. Each model is available as a downloadable template, allowing you to print out the entire scheme and then recreate the work by yourself.

“Sometimes I have little connection to the model I am designing, and other times it part of a lifelong fascination,“ Bergen explains on his website. “Whether it is something close to my heart or something “new” and exciting I am always happy to explore a different design language and share this experience with others in this unique way.”

]]> Nathan Motzko is a designer and illustrator, but also, as he puts it, a maker and friend. His illustrations — joyful and condense — are full of movement. There’s a lot going on in each of his pieces, and a lot to unravel — a sort of richness that makes you (the viewer) linger a little longer.

This abundance is especially worth noting if you take into account the digital nature of his work (no flat vector art here!). “I’ve found a great way of playing with such layering is just diving straight in,” remarked Motzko in a piece he wrote for Inky Goodness, “using more digital programs like After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. I realised how much fun it is to just make nonsense!” He describes this digital process of layering as “a wormhole of endless possibilities, that switches up my flow, challenging my rhythm.”

But though a lot of what Motzko does is digital, his building blocks are analog. “Pen and ink are my default tools and materials!” he stressed. “I also use protractor tools and rulers to get clean lines, and stuff like that. I love After Effects, but I want to invest in C4D and start making weirder 3D shapes…Haha! Otherwise, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are awesome.”

His dream project? “Establishing a studio of some kind, and provide opportunities to other creative people. I know so many amazing people, it would be great to get involved and help them achieve.” Show him some love on Instagram why don’t ya.

]]> David Benzal is a conceptual artist and illustrator who creates art for big companies such as Sony PlayStation, Walt Disney Studios, HBO, Netflix, Ubisoft, 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios Entertainment, and many more.

His artistic journey began more than two decades ago in Barcelona where he studied art. There he studied mural painting and technical procedures, however, at the end of the studies he got introduced into the world of illustration. He became a trained illustrator who created a unique style by merging the techniques in the drawing of comics, as in the field of the pictorial.

His works can be found in various television productions, cinematographies, video games, and comics. Benzal is an award-winning artist whose characters are recognizable by the projected light, which gives them an aura with their own personality.

One good thing about it is that it can print on all surfaces including cardboard, fabrics, paper, and wood. It is ideal for printing graphics and texts as well. Since it is portable, it can be carried along wherever you go. It is also user-friendly. Count us in!
